The Catholic Cricket

To all you fathers out there, a Happy Father’s Day.

I “won” a gift at church, for being the dad present with the most girls to marry off.  I got a Slim Jim (which Heather already ate), a can of Mug root beer, and a bag of Cheetos.  Heather and the kids got me a nice shirt, and my watch has been sent off for repairs as a second gift.

My other “present” was that I was given the glorious task of planting some flowers outside.  It wasn’t too bad, since Scott loaned me a tiller.  Really, the front of the house looks quite nice…possibly the nicest it’s looked since we moved in here.  The backyard is a completely different story.

In a little bit, we’ll be leaving for my parents’ house…just as soon as the house is cleaned up a bit and the potato salad is ready.

As you can see, I’m messing around with the theme here.  Expect a lot more changes to follow, including a theme switcher (if it’ll work with the themes I like).

I’ve switched from Movable Type to Wordpress (for now).  Wordpress is easier to customize and seems to have a more vibrant community.  Next on the agenda is to split off all of my old posts from the combined site and import them here.  After that is creating a password-protected area for personal stuff that I want to share with just family (e.g., photos of the family, personal news I don’t want viewed by all), and then upload a ton of photos.

And maybe one of these days I’ll manage to get some posts up here.  I’ve had a bunch of posts in mind over the past several months, but never force myself to make the time to post them.
